I have been advised that the minutes of Elders Meetings are to be made available to members for inspection and reference. I will place copies of approved minutes in the vestibule, in the Elders Tray.

The Elders met twice in September.

Wednesday 1st September.

• We received a report from Peter Smith, as he completed his training for ministry. He looked at how we could foster our links with the Youth Groups who use our premises. He also advocated that we establish more and better contacts with young families.
• We considered our statement of response with Kevin; we have, up till now, concentrated on our spiritual role and leadership within the church.
• We accepted the Project Team’s offer of “open house” to discuss details of the Church Development Project with any member or friend. We noted that we still need to resolve the practical implications arising from the Special Church Meeting on 21st July.

Wednesday 22nd September.

• We discussed the Church Development Project and what recommendation might be brought to a future church meeting. An Update Note was approved as forming the basis of the Elders’ review of events since 21st July. We will recommend to the Church Meeting on 29th September that there should be a Special Meeting to resolve and clarify the resolutions made on 21st July. (At the Church Meeting the date of Wednesday 3rd November was decided upon for this meeting).
