We did not have enough members present at our July meeting to make or decide on any formal resolutions; the meeting was positive and productive nonetheless. We had a detailed discussion on the problems and potential opportunities facing our Junior Church and how we provide for our young people and their parents generally.
We felt that new young families look for the church to offer a “Sense of Belonging”, “Relevance to their Lives” and “Feeling they are Wanted and Welcome”. We have a group of parents with babies and toddlers who may have interesting and exciting ideas as to what we can do to encourage them, engage with them, and provide for them. We also need to re-engage with the families of older children in a similar way. We agreed that a group of us should meet these two groups of parents informally in a social context, for example around a meal table and the appropriate arrangements would be made
