The Elders reflected that the Church Meeting the previous week had been positive and unifying with good progress made on church refurbishment and development.
We resolved some more details of our “away day” in September and Training Programme for this Autumn. We noted dates for training programmes for Junior Church leaders and helpers in September and October.
Kevin advised the meeting that he had passed year two of his doctorate studies and will now be preparing a thesis paper over the next two years. His study topic will be
“What is the shape of a Messianic community in the 21st century?”
A significant part of his research will involve interviews with the elders, the congregation and the wider community including our fellow churches.
We have included “Questions for Congregations” on Eldership in the July newsletter and the elders will consider the questions for elders individually. Fred will coordinate all responses at the beginning of September.
