Norvil McClurg acted as our chairman as Kevin was in the USA on his Doctorate studies. We remembered in silence and in prayer the life of Alan Gray who had died recently and other church members and relatives were also remembered in prayer.
We agreed a date for our “Away Day”; Saturday 16th September. We will work out details at our July meeting. The new Elders’ Districts were agreed after some slight adjustments. We noted arrangements for the retirement of the Revd. Peter Poulter, our Synod Moderator and agreed to recommend to the church meeting a donation of £300.00 towards a retirement gift. We agreed that coffee should be served after Communion Services and we need more volunteers for that rota.
Our main discussions were on filling Eldership posts and, in particular, the Junior Church (1Tim for Life) convenor. The meeting agreed that a scheme be drafted for the summer period and members of the congregation be invited to sample the experience of working with children (age range 3 to 11, approx.) without commitment to any further involvement. Selected members of the congregation would be approached by elders.

Ann Anderson volunteered to be our Pulpit Supply “secretary”
Eilidh Scott agreed to be our link elder with the Finance Group
The chair/link elder for the Events Group was considered but a decision deferred until after the Group’s next meeting.
It was noted that the secretary would like to retire at the next AGM, having served four years by then.
