At our September meeting the Elders gave considerable thought to the position of Treasurer, following Stewart Blair’s decision not to continue in the post. We brought forward several people for prayerful thought and will make informal approaches over the coming month. We are aware that we will need frequent updates on our finances in the future as we come into an uncertain period for us.
We then thought on how we could continue to cater for children during Sunday Worship and agreed to be on duty by rota to oversee youngsters and to have material available so that the duty elder does not have to prepare in advance. Each elder will find a helper from within the congregation for the day she/he is on duty. We will advise the church meeting of our proposals.
The issue of Charitable Giving had been referred to us from the church meeting and we considered the matter at length. We agreed that, while recognising the need to improve our church funds, we felt strongly that we should continue to give to charity at least half of the money we raise from our sale events.
We agreed that we give full and unanimous support to the Project as it enters its next phase at the Quarterly Church Meeting on Wednesday.
