Communication Group.
Initially appointed by the Elders to increase the awareness of Members and Friends to the aims and activities of Church Life. Three areas have been identified. Magazine - Internet - Notices.
The introduction of the Monthly News provides an opportunity to bring current News items to everyone promptly. Pilot issues since July 2003 allowed the production team to learn new Computer skills and develop the format that will remain throughout 2004. It is now available in Church on the first Sunday each month after morning service. Those who do not receive a copy at that time will be provided with one on their Elders Quarterly visit. Those are further away can receive a copy by Post. Our thanks to all who played such an important part in the Quarterly Magazine including Christine and her distributors.
Ponteland-urc.org is being developed to run alongside the Newsletter. An important question was is it to be a “dormant” or “live” site. Live was and is the preferred way. Ponteland library have advised that several visitors have requested assistance in finding the site on the web. News has reached us of viewers out of our region. Contributions should be by e-mail to ponturc@jrm-web.co.uk. Please try to include photographs. Advertise your events on this state of the art medium every time.
Notices. A well displayed Notice Board is a must. Items must be elegant and space is limited.
The new Church Notice Boards are being well used and soon a pair of Sandwich Boards will be provided to promote daily or weekly happenings.
Events Group
Following the success of the Anniversary year the group has created a series of Events for 2004. It is trying to balance dates to prevent overlapping. Spiritual - Cultural - Social activities are intended to cement the Fellowship within the life of the Church. The programme is displayed on the Corridor Notice Board and will be periodically displayed in the Broadway Notice Boards. Our tanks to all who helped in 2003 and those who continue on the 2004 Group
