Church Development Project Update
The drawings and other documents required for obtaining Planning Permission and Darras Hall Estate Approval were presented to the relevant authorities in August. It can take two to three months for Approval to be granted. In the intervening period the project team is continuing the work required to prepare detailed specifications for obtaining Building Regulations approvals and to prepare contracts for tendering purposes. Presentations to Synod are also being prepared. These matters will be presented and discussed at a future Special Church Meeting, on a date that is not yet known.
The Initial Design Study phase highlighted a number of issues that were already known to the managers and which are not part of the Project. The items are as follows:
- Installation of new central heating boiler and controls
- Ventilation in the kitchen
- Asbestos survey and follow-up actions
- Disability access
- Hall floor rectification
- Partitioning of storage areas
These items have been passed to the managers meeting for action through the usual channels.
